Tools to help us connect to God and The Divine
Prayer and Asking
I am here to remind you that you have a Divine family through the veil to call upon. They are available not only in times of need and distress but also to talk to, like your closest most trustworthy friends, who are there to lift you up and help lead the way to the brightest version of you. They are there to confide in when you feel no one else can understand the intricacies of your inner construction, when you feel lonely and need comfort, and to express gratitude for the blessings in your life. They are present for any reason at any given moment…you are never alone!
The members of your family begin with your Creator, God, The Divine Governor of all that was, is, and will be, The Cosmic Principle of Truth, and The Ultimate Giver of Good Things. God goes by many names. (Divine Source, One Mind, The Universe, etc…) You have your specific team of angels there for you and you alone. They include your personal guardian angel and others, as well as the Archangels, all of whom are ready and willing to assist in any given circumstance, if you call upon them. You have many celestial spirit guides who are there to guide you on your specific journey, if you are receptive and willing to listen to their voice. You have family members and souls that have departed from the earth plane that will walk with you as long as you need them to, also guiding, loving and comforting you on your journey through life. And, we can’t forget the ascended masters, guiding your thoughts and actions, especially when welcomed. They are those that have completely overcome and transcended this experience on earth and have mastered all pillars of the earthly plane of consciousness such as unconditional love for all beings, non-judgement, infinite patience and forgiveness, selflessness, and self sacrifice.
It is a crucial step for you to become aware of the Divine Family that abides in the unseen, right within you. They are always there for you, providing unconditional love, guidance and support, ready to lead the way. You just have to get quiet enough to hear them, and I know for a fact that you have every capability in the world to do so! So, where do you start? Simply begin by speaking to them, within yourself or out loud in a safe space. Ask them to reveal themselves to you, as this will ignite some of the most beautiful relationships you will ever experience.
Meditation
Meditation is not an easy practice, and can even feel intimidating to many. Sitting still in silence is something that goes against the grain of this earthly experience, which attempts to convince us that we need constant stimulation, through our phones, the TV, our jobs…the list goes on. However, the cosmos is within us. The Kingdom of Heaven is within us. So, when we take the time to close our eyes and sit in complete silence, surrendering our need for constant thinking and planning, we will create a space to receive love, enlightenment, and guidance from the Divine. It is a powerful discipline, one that, after many years of daily practice, I am still learning to demonstrate properly. But, where meditation is concerned, perfection is not the goal, even our attempts have an effect. So, begin small. Try 5 minutes a day, and work your way up from there. There are also many supportive apps, meditation sounds, and frequencies that can help you on your journey inward through this specific practice. However, the bottom line is that quieting thought for any amount of time throughout each day will enhance your conscious connection to the Divine.
Journaling
Journaling is a really good self-reflective practice. It does not have to look like anything specific, but is simply a creation of your own personal thumbprint. You can include artwork, magazine clippings, and photographs. However, most important is that you use the pen or a computer as the medium to allow your thoughts to flow through in an uninhibited way, unloading your consciousness into a private space that is yours and yours alone. This is a powerful experience through which things from deep within us can be revealed.
Nature
Nature calls us to experience the power of what no man created. Stepping outside into the sunshine, going for a walk, or immersing yourself in the natural world in any way you can is enough to lift consciousness to new levels. So, if you find you have a free moment, get out there, smell the fresh air, and immerse yourself in conscious gratitude for what was created on your behalf.
Sacred Text
Throughout history there have been numerous scribes of Divine Revelation. So many have channeled Infinite Wisdom and Knowledge, as we are all capable of being vessels of Truth. The important thing, however, considering how many opinions exist, is the ability to discern what the Truth is so that we don’t end up down a rabbit hole of idle chatter that engages our human ego. But, where do we get this discerning spirit? It comes from our Divine team, which leads us to the information that will best serve us on our journey to enlightenment. Then, once we are called to a sacred text, it is important to know that none of the understanding gained from our reading will come through an intellectual interpretation, but through Divine Revelation, awakening us to what has been within us all along.
Introspective Work
When we look in a mirror we see our reflection instantly and with no effort. However, holding up a mirror to our inner self isn’t quite as easy, as we are forced to uncover and confront the darkest parts of our soul that we have been suppressing for a very long time. Inner trauma easily remains hidden under the hustle bustle of our daily life, under layers of addiction, or gets lost in consciousness from years of successful suppression.
The old saying “knowing you have a problem is half the battle” still stands true. Because, even more challenging than resolving the issue that has made its home deep within your subconscious is recognizing that it’s even there in the first place. And, if we continue in a state of unawareness our lives will unknowingly be dictated by what remains hidden. So, how do we begin to confront issues that we aren’t aware of? We call upon God and our Celestial Guides for help, asking them to bring to light what lives in the darkness of our consciousness, so that we can begin a process of pulling out the unresolved issues by their roots. However, this is a process that we shouldn’t do alone. It is important to walk with close friends, spiritual leaders we trust with our inner depths, and most importantly with God and The Divine (the actual victor over the inner darkness). Is this an easy process? I would be lying if I said yes. But, does the hard inner work pay off? Absolutely. I can assure you with all my soul that it will lead you to the promised land within. It will lead you to a state of inner freedom and peace that is impenetrable no matter what is going on around you, and THAT is real power, my friend - true dominion over suffering.
